Since version 1.2.x, IT Asset Tool is composed of two folders and multiple files.
For simplicity, we will explain the use of the main files.

| ClientIAT.exe | Client | Used in client/server mode; execute on any client PC. Requires a command parameter to work. |
| ClientIAT32.exe | Client | Internal 32-bit client that performs PC inventory. (Used internally by ClientIAT.exe) |
| ClientIAT64.exe | Client | Internal 64-bit client that performs PC inventory. (Used internally by ClientIAT.exe) |
| CommonLibrary.dll | Client/Server | Library for IT Asset Tool, necessary for software inventory. |
| DaemonIAT.exe | Server | Required to execute listener.exe as a Windows Service. |
| ListenerIAT.exe | Server | Collects data from client computers or scans the network in AgentLess mode. |
| ReportEngine.exe | Server | Schedules software reports. Can be executed manually with a command parameter. |
| IATMng.exe | Server | Graphical interface for IT Asset Tool, used for data browsing and configuration. |
| System.Data.SQLite.dll | Server | SQL Lite Library required for the internal database. |
